Catalina Bauer
Catalina Bauer (b. 1976, Buenos Aires, Argentina). Lives and work in Santiago, Chile. In 1998 Bauer obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts at the Universidad Finnis in Santiago, Chile. Since then she has participated in several collective exhibitions, and solo shows in different regions of Chile, Santiago, Valparaiso, Concepción and Aysen. And internationally, such as; the Residencie she did in 2007 in the Anthropology Museum of Xalapa, in Xalapa, Mexico; The collective project with the same group of artist of Taller BLOC, “Material Ligero” in its two versions; at the Margarette Lawrence Gallery in Melbourne, Australia in 2009 and at the AMA Museum, Washington DC, USA in 2011 Washington D.C. in the United States; The exhibition of Juan Yarur Collection at Satchi and Phillip de Pury “Tectonic Shift” in 2010, in London, U.K., the 4th Moscow Biennale in 2011, The 6th World Textile Biennale in Mexico in 2011. In 2011, she won Beca AMA, a grand to do a Resident at Gasworks in London, U.K., and later she was invited to do a second residency with the Participation Programme, to do a workshop for the community during two month in 2012. During 2013 she did a short residency and exhibition in Coyhaique in the chilean Patagonia, a solo show at Die Ecke Gallery in Santiago, Chile, and she had her first solo show in London, U.K. at Cecilia Brunson Project.
